Young Researcher Prize for ADDoPT Post-Doc

Congratulations to ADDoPT Post-Doctoral Research Associate, Dr. Chunlei Pei, who won a Young Researcher Prize at the UK Particle Technology Forum held at University of Birmingham on 29th March 2017.

Dr. Pei, a postdoctoral research associate in Macromolecular Materials Laboratory at the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy in the University of Cambridge, received his award for an oral presentation entitled "Numerical Study of Cap-to-Band Coating Thickness Ratios during Spray Coating" reflecting his research into the tablet coating process as an EPSRC-funded project, the themes of which he is now continuing to develop within Work Package 4 of ADDoPT. He obtained his BEng from Chongqing University (Chongqing, China) in 2006, and PhD from University of Birmingham (Birmingham, UK) in 2013. He worked as a project officer for IPROCOM EU consortium in University of Surrey, UK in 2014. He has research interests in numerical modelling techniques for granular and continuous materials, mechanical characterization of materials, powder technology and material forming and processing.

The UK Particle Technology Forum was hosted by the University of Birmingham on behalf of IChemE Particle Technology Special Interest Group (PTSIG), to bring together early career researchers with industrial partners to discuss the challenges and opportunities for Particle Technology.
